Module 02

What is the Tracking Repair?

The Tracking Repair is server-side conversion tracking for Shopify brands running paid ads. It sends real purchase, refund and margin events from your store to Meta, Google and TikTok — reliably, from the server — so the ad platforms optimise for customers who stay and your budget is decided on numbers you can trust.

A matte-black precision dial with one hairline needle — an instrument reading the right signal.

In short

Browser-side pixels lose a meaningful share of conversions to ad blockers, consent, iOS and slow pages, so the ad platforms fill the gaps with modelled guesses — and you decide budget on those guesses. The Tracking Repair moves the signal to the server: every purchase, refund, subscription and return is sent as a first-party event with the right identifiers, deduplicated against whatever the pixel still catches. Two things change. First, reporting stops disagreeing: the platform, Shopify and your bank start telling the same story within a few percent. Second, the algorithm learns from truth — refunds and returns come back out, margin can be passed as value — so it stops chasing clicks that bounce and starts finding customers who stay. For a store spending $25,000 a month, the difference between guessed and true signal is routinely five figures a year in misallocated spend.

What does the Tracking Repair send?

Events leave the store from the server, not the browser.

Will my reported ROAS drop?

Often the platform-reported number moves — usually toward the truth. Meta’s dashboard may show fewer conversions than before because duplicates and modelled guesses disappear, while your bank account and contribution margin improve. We show the reconciliation on the first weekly report so the change is understood, not feared.

How is this different from installing the Meta pixel app?

The app installs a pixel plus a basic Conversions API feed with default events. The Tracking Repair adds deduplication, refund and return events, subscription events, consent handling, first-party identifiers, and a reconciliation report — and it is wired to the same source of truth as your reporting, so the numbers agree.

Questions

Is this compliant with consent rules?

Yes. Events respect the visitor’s consent state; server-side sending doesn’t bypass consent, it makes the events you are allowed to send reliable.

Do I need a developer to maintain it?

No. It runs unattended and alerts on failures. Changes to the ad platforms’ APIs are covered by the retainer if you want one, after the install has paid for itself.

Which platforms are supported?

Meta, Google Ads, GA4, TikTok and Klaviyo out of the box; others as part of a scoped install.
